The Port Authority of New York and
New Jersey created the Portfields Initiative to meet the
fast growing logistics chain needs of firms in New
Jersey, the region and around the world. This initiative
will transform underutilized and brownfield sites in New
Jersey’s Port District into modern industrial parks in
close proximity to the premier port on the east coast. |

World Class Access
The New Jersey region is one of the
largest and most affluent consumer markets in the world.
It has an outstanding maritime, air, rail and highway
transportation network, providing fast, efficient
movement of goods across the country and around the
world. The New Jersey region’s maritime and
transportation facilities rank among the largest and
most productive in the nation. The Port Authority of New
York and New Jersey is the third largest port operator in the United
States, and operates the largest port on the east coast. And our
regional three-airport network handles nearly 25 percent
of all the international air cargo in America. |
